The Color After Green
Praise for the book: “Randy Spencer has a keen eye for the natural world and he possesses the vivid language that allows his readers to share in seeing the world anew. The Color After Green is a book I greatly admire.” -Ron Rash
Joe Dreher aka JOEKINGATL
Artist, Architect, Photographer and Poet
While working on a project at 701 CCA this past winter Joe came by Stormwater to introduce himself. He did some quick drip sketches of some of the resident artists. He’s back in Columbia to finish his project with 701 CCA and will be exhibiting these portraits as well as other work.
NEWS FROM OUR RESIDENT ARTISTS
Kayla Olive is the SVAD Studio Artist in Residence for the month of August. She is currently a second year MFA student at SVAD studying painting. From Kayla “My current body of work is a series of paintings that focus on the figure, the painting process, and color. The connection that humans have with other humans, even if it is a painting of a human, has always entranced me in a way that no other subject matter has.”
Eileen Blyth, Kirkland Smith and Heidi Darr-Hope were invited to participate in the Jasper Project’s The Supper Table. The Supper Table, an homage to the 40th anniversary of Judy Chicago’s 1979 epic feminist art exhibition, is a multidisciplinary arts project celebrating the history and contributions of 12 extraordinary South Carolina women and featuring the work of almost 60 of South Carolina’s most outstanding women artists in the visual, literary, theatrical, and film arts.
