Opening Reception
of Keith Tolen’s Solo Exhibition Who Am I?

Thursday, August 18
5:30 – 7:30pm

Join us as we celebrate the opening of Keith Tolen’s Solo Exhibition Who Am I?

Art has allowed Keith Tolen to investigate many subjects that spark his interest.  This current exhibition turned the lens on the artist.  Not totally in a self-portraying mode, but more soul searching to dig into the pieces that form him.  “Who am I?” takes on the question of not just where he came from physically, but what has been the elements that shape the thinking and character of Keith Tolen.  In many ways the goal of this exhibition was to attempt to dissect down to the very essences of what makes a Keith Tolen.  Much like an onion, peal back each part layer by layer. Some might even say to make an examination of the structure of one’s self, one particle or even dot at a time.  The dot has become the transforming symbol for this current phase of Tolen’s artistic journal.  The dot has allowed him to visually observe how colors react within both small clusters as well as in large masses. In some ways the dot has become the artist’s illustrious companion as he travels to rediscover not just his role as an artist but in assisting to show just “who I am”, as a person.
