Who will the new artist be?!

Vista Studios/Gallery80808 announces a studio vacancy and invites applications from artists interested in renting it. The deadline for applications is Monday, December 7, and results will be announced by Monday, December 21. The studio will be available for move-in by January 1. Monthly rental is $360 plus $15 for cleaning services and an ad in Carolina Arts, for a total of $375 per month. A deposit of $150 and the first month’s rent will be required at the time of renting. Note that the studio is to be rented on a month-to-month basis.

Application materials should include the following (digital submissions are fine):

            §  a resume

            §  a portfolio of your work

            §  a statement detailing how you plan to use the studio and participate in studio/gallery activities

 Submissions will be juried by a committee of current studio artists.

Vista Studios, located at 808 Lady St. in the heart of the Congaree Vista Arts District, is a community of a dozen independent artists. We do not have a manager, so every artist is required to contribute to the communal duties involved in running the studios and gallery. Artists are expected to spend time working in their studios (on their own schedules, of course) as well as to participate in the group shows which we organize from time to time.
