Michel McNinch Exhibition at The Jasper Galleries at Motor Supply Co.

Michel McNinch, a professional artist and instructor based at Stormwater Studios, will showcase her work at The Jasper Galleries at Motor Supply Co. in Columbia. The exhibition will run from Friday, October 11, through Tuesday, December 31, with an Opening Reception on October 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
McNinch, known for her realistic yet interpretive landscapes, draws inspiration from the natural world and creates pieces that resonate emotionally with her audience. Her paintings for this show feature nature, wildlife, portraits, and mandalas, blending her personal experiences with artistic expression.
In addition to her successful painting career, McNinch is a passionate art educator. She has taught art to a variety of groups, including at-risk students and adults, earning accolades like Adjunct Faculty of the Year at Midlands Technical College. McNinch’s work as a painter and educator reflects her deep commitment to sharing the joy of art. Her art can be found in private collections across the U.S. and internationally.

Kirkland Smith’s “Lost and Found” Exhibition at The Arts Center of Kershaw County

Kirkland Smith will showcase her solo exhibition “Lost and Found” at The Arts Center of Kershaw County’s Bassett Gallery. The exhibit will run from October 11 to November 23. This exhibit will feature Smith’s unique works, as well as a collaborative piece created with 4th and 5th grade students from North Central Elementary School during her week-long residency.
The collaborative artwork showcases the school’s mascot, a Knight, adorned in green and gold, along with red, blue, and black feathers to represent the three schools that merged to form the new North Central Elementary. This vibrant and meaningful piece celebrates the unity and history of the school community.
The Opening Reception will be held on Friday, October 11, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Bassett Gallery, located at 810 Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC. Gallery hours are Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m..
Quincy Pugh’s Work Featured in the 2024 MOJA Arts Festival Juried Art Exhibition

Quincy Pugh’s artwork will be showcased in the 2024 MOJA Arts Festival Juried Art Exhibition at City Gallery, running from September 25 through October 13. The MOJA Arts Festival is an 11-day celebration of African-American and Caribbean culture, produced by the City of Charleston’s Office of Cultural Affairs. This year’s festival takes place from September 26 to October 6, 2024, highlighting the cultural contributions of African-American and Caribbean communities.
Pugh’s featured pieces, Veterans Day Parade: Superhero, Veterans Day Parade: Made in America, and See No Evil, which won first place! The juried exhibition also features recent work by artists from South Carolina and the Gullah Geechee Heritage Corridor, including painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, and photography.

Stephen Chesley’s solo exhibition, “Now & Then,” is on display at The Hampton Gallery LTD until November 2. The show captures the essence of nature’s beauty, reflecting on the connection between solitude and the natural world during these challenging times. Chesley’s work draws inspiration from thinkers like Thoreau and Muir, using abstraction in paint to evoke themes of nature, time, and emotion. Many pieces have never been shown for over 40 years.
