Luminous Reverie: Imagined Landscapes by Gerard Erley
Time is running out to experience Sights Unseen—the breathtaking solo exhibition by Resident Artist Gerard Erley at the Koger Center for the Arts!
With 26 mesmerizing paintings, this is likely the largest exhibition Gerard will ever have in Columbia—a must-see for art lovers. His imaginary landscapes, painted entirely from memory and intuition, transport viewers to serene, dreamlike worlds bathed in a sublime glow. Inspired by masters like George Inness, Corot, and Turner, Gerard captures an ethereal light that makes each piece feel almost otherworldly.

And How Do You Remember It?
For seven months, creativity, scholarship, and innovation have converged at the University of South Carolina’s Stormwater Collaborative Residency—now, it all comes to life in this culminating exhibition, “And How Do You Remember It?”! From September 2024 to March 2025, six talented individuals—two undergraduate artists, a filmmaker, an art historian, photographer and a graphic designer—have shared studio space, fostering collaboration and pushing the boundaries of their disciplines.
More than just an exhibition, this show is the result of deep artistic dialogue and creative exchange. The art historian will bring context and insight through curated wall text and the graphic designer will shape the visual identity of the show. The resident artists will present works that reflect their growth, experimentation, and shared artistic journey.
This is a unique opportunity to witness the power of collaboration in action—where disciplines intersect, ideas take form, and creativity thrives beyond the classroom. Join us to celebrate the next generation of artists at Stormwater Studios, March 26–30, 2025 with an opening reception on Thursday, March 17 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.!
