The first show of the new year at Gallery 80808 features four Carolina artists within a Feng Shui-designed installation. The show, entitled Elements, opens Thursday, January 19, with a reception from 5 to 9 p.m. and will remain on view through Tuesday, January 24. A variety of art forms will comprise the show, including paintings and collages by Eileen Blyth, mosaic tile work and other ceramics by Jeri Burdick, ceramic sculpture by Pat Gilmartin, and collages by Emily Whittle. Feng Shui consultant, Toni Forrest, will guide the design and arrangement of the gallery for this exhibition.
The gallery is located at 808 Lady Street. Although the street is under construction, it remains open to traffic and parking, and the gallery is accessible from either Lady or Gervais Street. Hours for the show are: Thursday 1/19, 5-9; Friday 10-6; Saturday and Sunday 1-4; Monday and Tuesday 10-4. For further information call Pat Gilmartin at 252-6134.

The resident artists of Vista Studio are pleased to announce holiday open studio hours on two different days, Saturday, December 10, 2-5 PM and again on Thursday, December 15 from 5 until 8 PM. Artists will be presenting recent work and pieces perfect for holiday gift giving.
Studios will have works in progress. Media include figurative nudes, non-objective and traditional oils, stone and ceramic sculptures, fibers, collage, and both 2D and 3D mixed media. Artists will be available for in depth conversations and questions. The atmosphere promises to be at once festive but relaxed.
Browsers will have an opportunity to see works in progress as well as visit “Construction Crew”, an ifArt, International Fine Art Services exhibition in the main gallery featuring German artist Klaus Hartmann and South Carolina artists Kim Keats, Peter Lenzo, and Edward Rice. |
