Karen Murphy Featured in The Columbia Star

Stormwater Studios’ garden designer, Karen Murphy, has been featured in The Columbia Star, Columbia’s locally owned weekly newspaper since 1963.

Karen’s lifelong love for wildlife and nature has made her a key figure in Columbia’s art, garden, and educational communities. Growing up in Minnesota, her parents nurtured her connection to native plants and the natural world. This passion for environmental education flourished throughout her academic journey at Brown University and Lesley University.

After moving to Columbia in 1990, Karen founded Karen’s Garden Care, a business dedicated to sustainable, pollinator-friendly gardens. For over 20 years, she has been transforming gardens across Columbia, enriching the local environment and community.
