“Throbbing Life” by Miguel Milló at Stormwater Studios

March 19 @ 11:00 am - March 23 @ 3:00 pm

Experience the captivating work of Mexican artist Miguel Milló, who transforms the human body into living art using natural materials like clay, flowers, and fruit. Featuring large-format prints on linen, this exhibition celebrates the deep connection between humanity and nature.

Running from Wednesday, March 19, 2025, to Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Stormwater Studios, the show invites viewers to immerse themselves in Milló’s striking imagery.

Originally from Baja California, Milló merges magic and beauty in his photography, focusing on the female form and body diversity. His vibrant compositions, adorned with organic elements, reflect a profound appreciation for the aesthetics of womanhood. Through a balance of creativity and technique, his work transforms the human body into a canvas, capturing fleeting moments of beauty and inviting viewers to pause in reflection.

His exhibitions have reached audiences worldwide, spanning America, Asia, and Europe, with showcases in Los Angeles, New York, Madrid, and numerous locations across Mexico.

As part of the exhibition, a special Building Bridges Conversation will take place on Thursday, March 20, 2025. Latino artists and community members are invited to join a conversation on how arts and culture can be used as tools for advocacy. The opening reception runs from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., featuring a talk by Ivan Segura, Executive Director of Palmetto Luna Arts, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Building Bridges at Stormwater Studios is a community-centered series designed to foster unity through art and collaboration. Each program connects artists with non-profit organizations that align with their work and personal stories, creating opportunities for dialogue, resource-sharing, and deeper community engagement. In a welcoming and supportive space, Building Bridges strengthens the local arts community and encourages collective impact.

This exhibition is made possible through the collaboration of Mexico’s Secretary of Foreign Affairs, the Mexican Consulate in Raleigh, the Public Works Arts Center, the SC Commission for Minority Affairs, and Palmetto Luna Arts.

This event is free and open to the public and will be held at Stormwater Studios, located at 413 Pendleton St, Columbia, SC 29201.
