the embodiment by Shaneen Tyrese

June 18 - June 29

the embodiment
the embodiment is a multidisciplinary body of work by Shaneen Tyrese that explores the concept of refuge—both spiritual and physical—as a space carved between polarities. Through mixed media painting, layered textures, poetic language, and abstract forms, the embodiment becomes a visual and emotional landscape where the sacred meets the broken, and where the broken meets GOD.

Drawing on themes of identity, faith, trauma, and transcendence, this project transforms raw material into ritual. Earthen textures meet quiet minimalism; painted surfaces carry embedded fragments of writing, memory, and prayer. It is in this space—between light and shadow, silence and sound, body, and spirit—that the embodiment offers itself: not as an escape, but as a reckoning, a healing, a homecoming to self.

This work invites audiences into contemplative dialogue and emotional resonance, guiding them toward their own sanctuary—a freedom often buried in the heart.
