The pictures in this exhibition represent work produced from the beginning of the COVID pandemic, 2019, to the present. The work can be roughly divided into three series. The first series I like to call Tiny Insects consists of about 2 dozen 4”x5” watercolor paintings of various butterflies, beetles, etc. The second series consists of small pen and ink and watercolor pictures of various ancient artifacts, such as ivory carvings and stone carvings and sculptures. There are about two dozen of these. The third series I like to call my Tower of Babel Series, but lately I have taken to just calling it the Tower Series. These range in size from 4’x5” to 20”x24”. To date there are at least 32 pictures, with more on the way. These pictures are mostly India ink, sepia ink, pencil and watercolor. These pictures are original works of art and there are no prints or reproductions.
In creating these images, I have tried to make them as true to life as possible and some people have said they resemble photographs. Many of the subjects have been taken from life, but others are purely the product of my imagination. I’ll let you decide which is which. Enjoy the show and check my website: totallymundo.com for many more images.
