Mark your calendars – Thursday, November 15th – Vista Lights from 5 – 10.  Stormwater Studios, located on 413 Pendleton Street, is Columbia’s newest, most vibrant artist community.  For Vista Lights, the ten resident artists will be featuring, not only a stunning group show – Down by the River, but also the live music of Gatlinburg’s Pea Pickin’ Hearts. Rachel Gibson & Jon Ives are back with their wonderfully quirky Americana mash-up!

The artists at Stormwater Studios are committed to keeping our rivers clean so that’s why they’ve partner up with Congaree Riverkeeper for this year’s Vista Lights.  In this Vista Lights exhibition, Down by the River, they are creating work that reflects their interpretations of our waterways.  In late August, the artists took a late afternoon boat ride down the Congaree River and that revved-up their creative juices. 

In celebration of the Congaree’s Riverkeepers 10^th year anniversary, the winning works of their Three Rivers Photography Contest will be on display during Stormwater’s Vista Lights Exhibition.  In November, birder, Jay Keck, will be leading a free bird spotting “workshop” for the public at StormWater and the studio artists will also sponsoring a river clean-up day.  Lots going on at Stormwater Studios, so keep your eye on their website and Facebook Page for details.
